Big Holiday weekend this time in Wilmington NC and just like always there is lots to do without even mentioning its beautiful local beaches at Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach and Carolina Beach.
Here are some of the highlights:
Orange Street Arts Festival – more than 50 artisans from all across the Southeast will come together this weekend for the 17th annual Orange Street Artsfest a fundrasier for the Thalian Association. There will be food, beer and wine tent also. It will run Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm on Orange Street between Front and Second streets and inside the Community Arts Center.

The Last Minute Art Show is Wilmington’s local art show featuring local artists with work sold at an affordable price. All art is priced $300 or below. It is taking place at 108 Market street in a vacant and long unused space downtown. The show opens Friday and will hang all weekend. $2 charge at the door.
Dont forget the Wilmington River front Farmers Market. All the fresh produce, flowers, meat, seafood and pastry you could want – very fresh sold by local farmers. One was very cute – a young woman farmer who told me I got up at 6am to get here…
Carolina Beach also starts it fireworks summer series this Friday at downtown across from the Boat launches. Alsyou will find the rides have arrived at Carolina Beach. Kids just love them…
Carolina Beach also has its farmers market this Saturday. You can find it all around the lake .
Lot of cool stuff including homemade soap and veggies.
